The Association of Accredited Independent Proprietors of Schools (AAIPS), Ijebu North-East Chapter, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening educational standards and fostering unity among private school owners, as it outlined key achievements and future plans at its recent meeting.
The Board of Trustees Chairman, Pastor Israel Omoyele, made this known during a familiarization visit with members of AAIPS ljebu North-East Chapter, emphasised the legitimacy and unique standing of the association, noting that AAIPS remains the only body of its kind duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as an association, rather than a business enterprise.
He added that the organisation is recognised by the Grand Union of Private Schools Association (GUPSA), that underscores its credibility and relevance in the education sector.
Omoyele charged members to uphold the values and standards of the association, stressing that AAIPS is committed to working exclusively with recognised and duly accredited schools
Addressing issues surrounding leadership and governance, the Chairman disclosed that the Board of Trustees (BOT) has been strategically positioned to stabilise the association and ensure seamless continuity in its activities, saying that ongoing efforts are geared towards strengthening the structure of the organisation and enhancing its operational effectiveness.
He expressed profound appreciation to members of AAIPS for their unwavering loyalty, dedication, and contributions, which he said have significantly enhanced the association’s standing in the educational landscape of the area.
Highlighting the association’s achievements, Omoyele revealed that AAIPS aside from securing its CAC registration, it has successfully established an international portal to improve accessibility, visibility, and administrative efficiency.
He disclosed that the association had partner with reputable publishers for production and distribution of textbooks while sales were made to members and non members in the recent time.
In addition, he announced that the association have been writing the unified examination for both members and non-members on termly basis, stressing that the initiative would not only standardise academic assessment but also serve as a revenue-generating mechanism to support members through grants and other developmental initiatives.
Omoyele further stated that AAIPS is committed to harmonising relationships among school proprietors to ensure collaboration, unity, and sustainable growth within the sector. He added that the association is open to working closely with government authorities to advance educational development and policy implementation
Omoyele commended the Commissioner for Education for the ongoing digitalisation and automation processes in school registration, describing the initiative as a laudable step towards improving efficiency and transparency in the education system.
In a significant development, the association announced the appointment of Dr Adesanya Anu as the Chairperson of AAIPS, Ijebu North-East Local Government Chapter, for a four-year term. Her appointment, is expected to usher in a new phase of growth and stability for the association.
In her acceptance speech, Dr Adesanya, proprietor of Mercy Crown Model School, expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in her leadership. She pledged to utilise available resources judiciously to advance the goals of the association.
She also called on members to shun all forms of division and unhealthy rivalry, urging them to embrace unity, cooperation, and mutual support.
Dr Adesanya further encouraged members to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices that would help improve school administration and academic outcomes across board.
