The Coordinator of the office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki on Saturday, April 11, 2026, sent a delegation to join the family of the late Mrs Rosemary Chris Udofia, in paying their last respects.

Represented by the wife of the Secretary to the State Government Dr Inemesit Uwah, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, in a message of condolence presented to the daughter of the deceased and wife of the commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs Doris Nkan, urged her and other members of the family, to draw strength and receive consolation from the life of purpose that their mom had lived, as well as virtues that she exhibited, as worthy of emulation.

The funeral of the late Mrs Rosemary Chris Udofia, a trained Nurse and Midwife and former First Lady of Uyo, described by many who knew her as an ideal mother and Role Model, attracted a large following of dignitaries including the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, who was represented by the SSG, Prince Enobong Uwah, as well as the immediate past Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel.

Other members of the delegation from the office of the First Lady to the Funeral Mass in honour of the deceased which held at the St. Peter's Catholic Church in the University of Uyo, were the President of the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Women's Forum, Dr Eme Camillus Umo; the wife of the Chairman of Essien Udim LG Council, Mrs Ofonime Ntiense and a former chairman of Mkpat Enin LG council, Lady Mercy Bassey.
