The Coordinator of the office of the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, has extended her heartfelt condolences to the wife of the member representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mrs. Ekaette Moses Essien, over the passing of her mother, Late Deaconess Mandu Emmanuel George, at the age of 87.
The condolence message was delivered on her behalf by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Inibehe Silas Etukudo, last Saturday, during the funeral of the deceased, conducted by the Apostolic Church Ata Inim district, at the UBE Primary School Grounds, Uruk Uso, Otoro, in Abak Local Government Area.
In her message, the Coordinator of the office of the First Lady described the loss of a mother as deeply painful, noting that while the grief is profound, it is comforting to reflect on the deceased’s life of faith, service, and positive impact on the people around her.
She encouraged Mrs Ekaette Essien , her husband and other members of the bereaved family, to draw strength from the love and support surrounding them, as well as from the cherished memories shared with the deceased. She also prayed for God to grant the departed eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The funeral was attended by members of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and their spouses, Government officials, and other dignitaries who gathered in their numbers, to pay their last respects to the late Deaconess and celebrate her impactful life.
The delegation from the office of the First Lady included the Chairman of Esit Eket Local Government Council, Hon. Uduak Ikot; the President of Uyo Senatorial District Women Forum, Dr. Ekaette Ebong Okon; and the Honorary Special Adviser on Women Mobilisation, Uyo Senatorial District , Mrs. Elsie Esara.
