The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has called on the newly installed Lowa Ibu of Batoro-Sagamu, Oba Adesegun Ogunsola, to see his ascension to the throne as a higher call to service, with a focus on driving socio-economic development and preserving the rich cultural heritage of his people.
The Governor gave this charge during the official installation and presentation of the Staff of Office to the monarch in Sagamu.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, Abiodun urged the monarch to deploy his experience and exposure in mobilising the people of Batoro-Sagamu to align with the state government’s development agenda and economic transformation initiatives.
He emphasised the importance of the monarch’s role in promoting the administration’s ISEYA mantra, urging him to encourage his subjects to remain law-abiding and fulfil their civic responsibilities.
Akinlesi also appealed to indigenes of Batoro-Sagamu to rally behind the new traditional ruler, noting that peaceful coexistence remains essential for sustainable community development.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Odulate, represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Salami, expressed appreciation to the state government and called for unity and a collective sense of responsibility among residents to foster grassroots development.
Similarly, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Babatunde Ajayi, urged the monarch to prioritise rapid development across his domain.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Ogunsola expressed gratitude to the state government for the recognition accorded him, pledging to uphold peace and security while serving his people with integrity, humility, and dedication.
