The Non-Governmental organisation, Elevating Informative Women Ambassadors (EIWA), on Friday held its inaugural meeting aimed at introducing members and clearly outlining the vision, mission, and objectives of the group.
The meeting, which brought together the Visioner and Stakeholders, served as a platform to familiarise participants with the core purpose of the organisation, while fostering unity and shared commitment among members.
Addressing the participants, Ambassador Ade-Adeniji Folake highlighted the driving force behind the establishment of EIWA, saying that the organisation was conceived as a platform to inform, educate, and empower women across all strata of society. She emphasised that EIWA seeks to promote active women’s participation in national development, civic engagement, and leadership, while also advocating for gender inclusion and equal opportunities.
According to her, the NGO is committed to equipping women with relevant knowledge, skills, and confidence required to contribute meaningfully to societal growth.
The Visioner further explained that EIWA would focus on mentorship programmes, awareness campaigns, capacity-building initiatives, and collaborations that would uplift women and the less privileged.
Adeniji also acknowledged the importance of partnerships, stating that EIWA is open to working with other non-governmental organisations, both within and outside the country, to expand its reach and impact. She stressed that collaboration remains key to achieving sustainable development goals, particularly in areas affecting women and vulnerable groups.
Reflecting on her personal journey, the founder shared insights into her past achievements, noting that she has successfully led various organisations and spearheaded developmental projects both in her professional capacity and personal endeavours.
She added that these experiences have equipped her with the leadership skills and vision needed to drive EIWA to greater heights.
Ambassador Adeniji assured members of her commitment to surpass expectations and build a formidable platform that would positively transform lives.
In the same vein, the group appointed Coordinators in Egba, Yewa and Ijebu Division, Ambassadors Elijah Olateju, Janet llloghalu and Ehiminsan Adedoyin, respectively to coordinate its administrative activities and ensure smooth communication among members. Describing the appointment as a strategic move, to strengthen organisational structure and enhance efficiency in the group’s operations. Promised that Remo Division shall be find tuned soon.
In her acceptance speech, the Egba Division's Coordinator, Amb. Olateju expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in her and others, pledged to discharge her duties diligently. She urged members to maintain punctuality at meetings, stressing that time management is critical to the success of the organisation. She also encouraged active participation from all members, adding that collective effort is essential to achieving the group’s goals.
The meeting concluded on a note of optimism, with members reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of EIWA and expressing readiness to work collaboratively towards building a stronger, more inclusive society.
