The Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government has organised an in-house training programme for its workforce as part of sustained efforts to enhance productivity, efficiency, and service delivery at the grassroots.
The training, held at the Chief Nasiru Deinde Memorial Hall within the Council Secretariat, was in compliance with directives from the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission aimed at strengthening administrative capacity across local government areas in the state.
In his opening remarks, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Babatunde Adesina, lauded the Executive Chairman, Hon. Lawal Wasiu, for fostering an enabling environment for continuous staff development. He urged participants to engage actively in the sessions and apply the knowledge gained to improve overall service delivery.
One of the resource persons, Mrs. Daramola Olubusola, Head of Budget Planning, Research and Statistics Department, delivered a lecture on Budget Management and Planning. She stressed the importance of prudent financial management, efficient resource allocation, and strategic planning in achieving sustainable grassroots development.
Also speaking, the Head of Community and Social Welfare Department, Mr. Animashaun Saheed, underscored the critical role of leadership in promoting unity and advancing social welfare.
Speaking on “The Role of Community Leadership,” he highlighted the need for empathy, accountability, and proactive engagement in addressing community challenges, noting that effective leadership serves as a bridge between government and the people.
In his response, one of the participants, Mr. Oloyede Ogunrombi, described the training as timely and impactful, expressing confidence that it would enhance staff performance and professional competence.
The initiative underscores the Council’s commitment to building a skilled and responsive workforce capable of delivering quality services to residents.
