The Ondo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Victor Olabimtan, has revealed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mandated the recruitment of 25 canvassers in each of the state’s 3,933 polling units to boost his re-election bid ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Olabimtan disclosed that the initiative would produce about 98,325 grassroots mobilisers across the state, each tasked with convincing at least five voters to support the President during the poll.
He made this known on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Ondo State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Akure.
According to him, the programme is part of a nationwide strategy designed to strengthen grassroots engagement and bridge communication gaps between the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and citizens.
“The President has directed that 25 canvassers be recruited per polling unit. They will be paid for three months before and two months after the election, with payments made directly to them,” Olabimtan said.
He emphasised that elections are primarily won at the polling unit level, noting that if each canvasser successfully mobilises five voters, the cumulative effect would guarantee victory.
Olabimtan added that the remuneration for the recruits would be funded by President Tinubu and the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
He explained that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative has been established across all 36 states to promote awareness of government policies, programmes, and opportunities, while also gathering feedback from grassroots communities.
“The RHA is aimed at educating Nigerians on the reforms and opportunities under the Renewed Hope Agenda and ensuring citizens are well informed,” he said.
The coordinator urged members of the group to actively engage in mobilisation and strengthen ties with the All Progressives Congress structures across the state, from local governments to ward levels, to ensure unity and consistent messaging.
While noting that the initiative would complement existing pro-Tinubu support groups, Olabimtan commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his role in the selection of members and expressed confidence that the team would deliver on its mandate.
