Women in Ogun state under the aegis of Lado Special Program on Friday showers Hon Oladipupo Adebutu with a cash support to purchase nomination form for the position of Governorship under the Umbrella of People's Democratic Party in Ogun State.
The group made this known during a meeting held in Abeokuta with the 2027 governorship candidate of PDP, the women said their decision followed wide consultations and careful consideration of the political landscape in the state.
The like-minded women group comprises of multifaceated women professional, the Private and Public servants, Teachers, Nurses, Market women and others in Ogun declared their full support for Honorable Ladi Adebutu ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.
They noted that their support is driven by their belief in good leadership and development.
In her welcome address, the State Chairperson of the group, Mrs Abimbola Adeleye explained that the gathering was aimed at strengthening their mobilisation efforts across the state.
Mrs Abimbola Adeleye described Honorable Ladi Adebutu as a man with clear vision and have strong passion for the progress of Ogun State. Adding that he remained committed to the growth of his people over the years.
"Adebutu is a true son of the soil who understands the needs of the people at the grassroots level. this quality makes him stand out among other contenders"
The Chairperson emphasised that their support is not based on political party affiliation but on competence and credibility, saying that leadership should be about service and impact.
Also revealling reasons for the endorsement by the women professionals from different backgrounds across the state, Adebutu has interest in women development, consistently support programmes that uplift women and families. These and more has earned him the trust of many women in the state.
Expressed confidence that if elected governor in 2027, Adebutu will promote inclusion and ensure women are given opportunities to serve and contribute to the governance, she said.
The women group had pledged to mobilise support for him at the 20 local government areas of the State, called on other stakeholders to support credible candidates that has the interest of the people at heart, reteirating that Ogun State deserves a purposeful and inclusive leadership,and assured of 30,000 women votes
Earlier, The Director Lado Special Programs, Mr Oluseye Afolabi appreciated the women for their support and also encouraged them come out enmass to vote without fear but courage in their heart to elect credible leader as next governor just as they have shown during the meet. Hon. Ladi Adebutu expressed deep appreciation to the LADO Special Women for their support and for believing in his gubernatorial ambition.
In her goodwill message, Ambassador Folake Marcus- Bello, expressed her excitement for the courage of crops of women that gathered, truely showing they wanted a Visioner leader and not because of congos of rice or money bag.
"It so disheartening when our people line up where politicians uses rice or Garri to buy their conscience but for these calibre of women from all works of life, could take a bold step of whom they wanted, it means Nigerians really wanted a credible leader to Govern them".
In his reactions to the women's gesture, Hon Oladipupo Adebutu assured LADO Special Women Group, when elected as the Governor of Ogun State in 2027, there shall be inclusion of women in his administration saying all hands are on deck to fish out a capable and strong woman candidate as his deputy in the 2027 governorship race
Hon. Ladi Adebutu encouraged women to obtain their Permanent Voter's Card (PVC) to enable them vote in the forthcoming 2027 election, urged them to mobilize their families and associates to do same.
The Permanent Voter's Card ( PVC )that this would enable you to actively participate in the 2027 elections and elect a leader who will move Ogun State forward.
He reminded them that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) remains the platform, and Ladi Adebutu is the candidate to support.
