Women under the platform known as Lado Special Women has declared their full support for Honorable Ladi Adebutu ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State. The group made this known during a meeting held in Abeokuta.
The women said their decision followed wide consultations and careful consideration of the political landscape in the state. They noted that their support is driven by their belief in good leadership and development.
Chairperson of the group, Mrs Abimbola Kudehinbu, spoke to journalists at the end of the meeting held at Park Inn in Kuto. She explained that the gathering was aimed at strengthening their mobilisation efforts across the state.
Mrs Kudehinbu described Honorable Ladi Adebutu as a man with clear vision and a strong passion for the progress of Ogun State. She added that he has remained committed to the growth of his people over the years.
According to her, Adebutu is a true son of the soil who understands the needs of the people at the grassroots level. She said this quality makes him stand out among other contenders.
The group emphasised that their support is not based on political party affiliation but on competence and credibility. They maintained that leadership should be about service and impact.
Mrs Kudehinbu also revealed that the endorsement came as a result of agreement among professionals from different backgrounds across the state. She said the group is made up of women who are passionate about development.
She praised Adebutu for his interest in women’s development, noting that he has consistently supported programmes that uplift women and families. She said this has earned him the trust of many women in the state.
Part of the group’s reasons for backing him is his support for the girl child. According to her, empowering young girls is key to building a better future for the society.
The group expressed confidence that if elected governor in 2027, Adebutu will promote inclusion and ensure that women are given opportunities to contribute to governance.
They also pledged to mobilise support for him across the 20 local government areas of Ogun State. The women said they are ready to engage communities and raise awareness about his leadership qualities.
In conclusion, the group called on other stakeholders to support credible candidates who have the interest of the people at heart, stressing that Ogun State deserves purposeful and inclusive leadership.
