The Ogun State chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) was prominently represented at a Town Hall Meeting themed "United to Prevent Violence Against Women and Girls," held in Ijebu-Ode on Thursday.
Representing the association at the event were Yeye Adesola Salami and Comrade Funmi Adewoju Suleodu, who joined other stakeholders in deliberating on practical measures to curb violence against women and girls across communities.
The town hall meeting, organized by the Centre for Women Health and Information (CEWHIN), brought together community leaders, government representatives, civil society organizations, women advocates, and development partners to strengthen collaborative efforts toward addressing gender-based violence and promoting the safety and well-being of women and girls.
Participants engaged in robust discussions on the root causes of violence against women and girls, while emphasizing the need for sustained advocacy, public enlightenment, policy implementation, and community-driven interventions to foster safer and more inclusive societies.
Speaking on the significance of the gathering, stakeholders underscored the importance of collective responsibility in preventing abuse, protecting vulnerable groups, and ensuring justice for survivors of violence.
