The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Ogun State Government, Hon. Oluwasesan Fagbayi and artisans at the 2026 Odun Aje Onire Egba.

The Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Ogun State Government, Hon. Oluwasesan Fagbayi, has restated the current administration's commitment to preserving African culture and history, calling them agents of economic development. 

The Commissioner made the comment after receiving an award for excellent achievements to Cultural Promotion and Tourism Development in Ogun State from the AJE Onire Egba Global Initiative at the 2026 Odun Aje Onire Egba in Abeokuta. 

Hon. Fagbayi hinted that African culture and customs had intrinsic benefits that may increase tourism and bring more individuals to the State, asking the population to use culture to boost productive economic progress.

As he states, "the Aje Festival is an important festival to humanity, it is believed that nobody can survive without Aje, which is known as the spirit of wealth, prosperity and market profitability," 

Speaking about the recognition award, Hon. Fagbayi thanked the organisers, characterising it as a reflection of stakeholders' combined efforts towards cultural and tourism development. 

Mrs. Kemi Oloyede, the Iyaloja of Asero Market, praised the current administration for providing equal platforms for religious organisations to function in the state, as well as the government's support for identifying with them. 

The events focused on empowering artisans, market men, and women from the six local government areas in the Egba division.
