Christian worshippers in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area have commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for his fair and inclusive governance, following the recent distribution of rice to churches in the area.
The commendation came during a distribution exercise held at the Eternal Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church as part of activities marking Palm Sunday.
Speaking at the event, the Shepherd in charge, Senior Apostle Daniel Matthew, described the gesture as an act of kindness and a reflection of the Governor’s considerate leadership style.
He noted that the administration’s commitment to revitalising and maintaining religious structures across the state had contributed significantly to growth and sustainable development.
Also speaking, the Pastor in charge of Christ Apostolic Church, Ti Oluwa Ni Parish, Pastor Adeyemi Raphael, expressed appreciation to the government for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of concern for the welfare of the Christian community. He added that such initiatives promote inclusiveness and contribute to socio-economic development.
In his remarks, the Vicar of the African Church, Saviour’s Parish, Venerable Akintola Akindele, said the intervention reflected the government’s commitment to strengthening hope within the Christian community, particularly in addressing prevailing economic challenges.
Responding on behalf of beneficiaries, Pastor Olarewaju Oniyi and Mrs. Ibironke Ajayi described the gesture as timely and compassionate, noting that it would help cushion the effects of the current economic realities on households.
The distribution forms part of ongoing efforts by the Ogun State Government to support residents and foster unity across religious communities.
