OGUN CIVIL SERVANTS GET BOOST AS ABIODUN EXTENDS OSAMCA AGRIC LOAN



Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the integration of Civil and Public Servants into the Ogun State Agricultural and Multi-Purpose Credit Agency (OSAMCA) Agricultural Loan Scheme.

According to a circular issued by the Office of the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya indicated that, the extension was aimed at boosting food production, tackling food scarcity and supporting the poverty alleviation mandate of the present administration.

The circular noted that the extension was strictly for civil and public servants engaged in agriculture, adding that, to be eligible to apply for the OSAMCA loan, officers are expected to have been confirmed and have worked for a minimum of three to five years or have at least five years remaining before retirement.

“With the approval, the Governor has directed OSAMCA to extend the Agricultural Loan Scheme to Civil/Public Servants who are engaged in agricultural businesses,” the circular stated.

It further revealed that the interest rate on the loan has been reduced from 18% to 15% deductible from beneficiary’s monthly salary, stressing that the loan is self-guaranteed and repayment shall be deducted monthly from the beneficiary’s salary.

It also advised interested and eligible officers to register at the office of the Director of Administration and Supplies of the OSAMCA, at Room 356, Block B, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
